The new geolocation solution recognized for offering operators quick new services which are flexible and interactive
Nokia Siemens Networks, in association with the editor Intersec, received the Alliancy Prize in International Development awarded by the Club des Partenaires IT (the IT Partners Club) on December 9, 2009. The innovative concept, developed by this alliance in 2009, is to offer precise real-time geolocation information on each subscriber, contrary to other existing solutions which target only a portion of the subscribers. Mobile operators can now imagine new services linked to these applications like geomarketing ads or parental control in a given zone, fleet monitoring…
Nokia Siemens Networks is responsible for the end-to-end integration of this new solution and deploys a functionality to generate all the geolocation data in the core of the operator's network. It is enhanced with a service platform integrating the Intersec software which pertinently exploits all the geolocation data according to the different service scenarios. This ultra-performing software named IGLOO is capable of processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and, after intelligent filtering, making them available to other applications. For instance, users who have subscribed to a Top Ideas offer can be detected when they pass near a store ready to offer a promotion. Immediately a message is sent to their phone with this information. In the same way, a child can be detected if he leaves a zone predefined by his parents on his way home from school in the evening and alert them he has disobeyed or that there is a risk of a kidnapping.
Ana-Maria Gimenez, Director Services Department Nokia Siemens Networks France, says, "Our objective is to continually develop our services offer to correspond with the evolution of our customers' needs and expectations. By integrating the Intersec solution, we can offer new revenue opportunities to operators. In this way, the Alliancy Prize rewards our approach as integrators of innovative editors like Intersec in the IT ecosystem."
Yann Chevalier, CEO of Intersec, underlines the international character of the prize. "The complementarity of Nokia Siemens Networks, a major equipment manufacturer with hundreds of customers worldwide, and Intersec, a dynamic 5-year-old French start-up which is already present on 3 continents, is expressed both on a technological level and in global commercial collaboration, which is evidence of the support in exporting that large groups bring to small businesses.
The newspaper 01 Informatique publishes every year a special volume "Technologia" in which it awards 5 trophies rewarding innovation.
Intersec won one of these prizes: "The most high tech company" thanks to its very innovative and ultra-performing software: MCMS - Multi Channel Marketing Suite.
